Pokey (Cavachon) - Re-Homing

Pokey, a male Cavachon puppy born on September 6, 2011, has a grade 2 heart murmur, which is low risk. Grade 2 murmurs normally disappear by 10-12 weeks of age and the puppy is healthy, however, there is no guarantee.

For more information or to enquire about adopting Pokey, please email Be sure to include a telephone number so we can contact you directly for the interview process.

A minimum donation of $75 is requested to help defray some of the expenses incurred to re-home the puppy, including a vet health check and updated immunizations.

PROGNOSIS: A heart murmur does not necessarily mean that the dog has heart disease. A murmur is simply a sound, detectable through a stethoscope which amplifies the heart sounds, which may or may not reflect anatomical or other heart abnormalities. Heart murmurs cannot be "cured" or corrected. However, if heart disease is the reason for the murmur, the condition may be manageable with medication, exercise and dietary change. The outlook for dogs with heart murmurs can only be determined once the underlying cause of the murmur is identified.
